Affirmative action and the enemies of diversity

Hm... Wonder how they’ll vote..? *snark* Buh-bye, anti-discrimination laws. Hi there, housing red-lining, legalized racial profiling, separate & unequal. We’re (ie. ALEC, the Koch brothers, the GOP, et al) “taking America back” …to the 1800s.

Post racial” my ass.

Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Anti-union, corporations are people, right to work states, Citizens United, lower the minimum wage, tax cuts for the wealthy, austerity for the rest of us, outsource jobs to third-world countries, buy more lobbyists - buy more tax code, lower corporate taxes, deregulation, Caymen Island tax shelters, lay off employees for higher CEO bonuses…

Hm… So you actually can put a gun rack in a volt.

Rick Santorum’s message seems to be that Obama belongs to a weird religious sect called Black people.

•One will soon be a 2nd term president
•One will be the first woman president of the United States

Without the election of George W. Bush, I don’t think we would have danced quite so hard to Bin Laden’s tune, leading the country into two wars (one of which was entirely gratuitous). Nor would we have had the runaway deficit spending (including the cost of those two wars) that bankrupted our economy. Even more importantly, we had no action on climate change, and an administration that pretended that what might be the greatest challenge to modern civilization was nothing to worry about. I suspect our descendants, if they care about these things, will indeed regard the election of 2000 as a decisive point in the history not just of our country, but of the world.
